Some Typhoon Have No Rain?

Reasons:

● Distance from the Core

The strongest rainbands are usually concentrated near the eyewall and in spiral rainbands. If you’re far from the circulation center or if the system is moving away, you might only feel winds without much rainfall.

● Dry Air Intrusion

Sometimes, a typhoon draws in dry air from nearby regions, which suppresses cloud formation and rainfall in certain sectors of the storm. This can make it windy but not necessarily rainy.

● Wind Shear

Strong upper-level winds can tilt or disrupt the storm, blowing away its rain clouds from the center. When this happens, one side of the typhoon may be very wet while the other stays relatively dry.

● Speed of Movement

If Opong is moving quickly, the rainbands may pass over an area too fast to drop significant rain.

● Positioning of the Habagat (Southwest Monsoon)

Many typhoons enhance the southwest monsoon, causing widespread rains. If a typhoon position does not interact strongly with the Habagat, rainfall may stay limited.

👉 So, a typhoon still has rain, but depending on your location and the storm’s structure, our area might not be under its rainbands at the moment.
